The 'Outcomes" Muscle...

Good morning from underneath the trees in the land of my ancestors. A constant light rain falling and Dungavel Hill in front of me draped in mist or low cloud. A delayed slow drive north yesterday also brings me to the spiritual home of the drum circle movement in the UK. A bizarre moment in the drive, listening to a playlist and Travis’ ‘Why does it always rain on me’ came on just north of Dumfries and … it’s starts raining.

“‘Why does it always rain on me, is because I lied when I was 17 “

It really hasn’t stopped since. Any way, parked up in the woods, over looking a small body of water, surrounded by trees and the energy of nature. Rain dripping from the canopy, the sounds of crows all around me. Smaller birds that I can’t see, my eyes and ears still tuning in. Then buzzed by a Robin. A far off traffic rumble. The smells of damp soil, trees and leaves grasps my nostrils, the full sensorial experience of being in nature. Had to deal with enforced delay over the last few days which didn’t sit well with me, patience was required, as well as my ‘ letting go ‘ of outcomes muscle. Which is one of my most undeveloped ones.

However as I once read ;

“ Many outcomes were greatly improved by things that delayed them “

And they were right as always. Postings may become a little less frequent over the next few days as I become immersed in my community with teachings and learning, but I will endeavour to be here. Lovely days people.

“ The unknown evokes wonder. If you lose your sense of wonder, you lose the sacramental majesty of the world. “ John O’Donohue.
