And so I return under the Oak after 13 days in Scotland. It’s a quiet morning by suburban standards, but not by my previous few days. Car rumbles and passing planes, but bird song and bird life drifts on the air. Crow an occasional Starling as well as a Robin and a few I don’t recognise. Not seen Starlings for a wee while. So sitting here soaking it up after a long drive yesterday and as I say a return to suburbia. Reflecting on the community created over 10 days in Scotland. Drummers, therapists, mental health advocates and community builders from 14 countries from India in the East to the USA in the west. All together under one roof to learn, share and create community. An experience that is both humbling and invigorating in equal measure. Robin Baker wrote ;

“ Once you meet your tribe, you will begin questioning why you ever put up with anything less than the nourishing and supportive energy that they provide.”

The rhythms were sublime, the stories rich and deep and the energy infectious. And we now step back into the real world our hearts full, ideas brimming and clarity in our cause to create community. And as I say I now sit under the oak my heart full and considering what next. Lovely days people.

“ I seek interconnectedness with all of life, and my truth resonates well with the right people.” Leo Lourdes.

The tribe of 2023.
